Our PM represented Great Britain in a strong and statesmanlike manor.

Bombarding other state leaders with detailed argument and fact - he won support from the entire international community for a strong statement condemning Robert Mugabe and his despotic regime - even the Russians were convinced by the argument.

Brown also moved to make sure other leaders (France and Italy....) didn't back out of the African aid pledge made at the G8 in Gleneagles; and was instrumental in advancing collective climate change agreements.

A good G8 for Gordon Brown - the PM was in command and was rewarded with success. Too bad it goes mostly unnoticed.

Do you think Cameron would have managed that?.....not a chance.

<A

Ray Lewis, Deputy Mayor of LONDON has resigned with immediate effect due to allegations of serious corruption.

24 hours earlier, Boris - the clown-mayor of london stood side by side with Mr Lewis and expressed FULL CONFIDENCE in his sleazy deputy. The allegations included sexual impropriety. (the tories favoured form of sleaze)

A hammer blow to Boris, but a gut punch to Cameron. Two months is how long the tories took to corrupt city hall. The mayors judgmental is seriously shocking and should be a warning call to all that think the tories have changed. "Do what I say, not what I do!"
<A

[Blogs] Sleazy Spelman...Cont

John Lyon, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards has decided to investigate the tory party chairman, Caroline Spelman over the "nanny on the state" affair.

He did say that it would be EXCEPTIONAL to investigate a case more than 7 years old.

Spelman has to be finished; there is no doubt she will be found in breach of the rules. (she lied in her statement about the period of employ.....should be shocked? NO - its the tories!)

What will be interesting is how Cameron responds. He has been pretty quiet (read - SILENT) about her. Surely the tory party cant have someone continuing as chair when they are under investigation for graft?

Whats more ironic - is that Cameron is DITHERING; he should have got rid of her as soon as it was announced she was being investigated; but no, he didnt - he cant decide what is in the best interests of the party....get rid of her and give labour an easy PR day adding even more sleaze, or keep her and when she is finally disgraced, be forced to get rid of her - making him look weak.

They thought this was a non story as well.....

<A

The House of Lords is voting today on whether or not a referendum should be held over the lisbon treaty.

The tories are calling for a referendum (no surprise) - they would love nothing more than to rip the UK out of europe.

What is interesting is the Liberal's position. Clegg tells his MP's to abstain when the issue was in the commons, but then tells his peers to vote against a referendum in the lords.

Very confused.

<A

Brown was quite the statesman today; a powerful and strong performance - maintaining a position in the face of defeat, - could you ever see cameron do that? Cameron looked weak harking on about civil liberties; well guess what - we are at war with radical islamic extremism, and if the police need more time to question; then they should be granted all the time in the world.

Presumed terrorists should be afforded no benefit of the doubt. This debate about 6 weeks is laughable. Imagine if the enemy facing their trial for the liquid explosives managed to go through with the plan - we would not be having this conversation.

Infact, I think internment would have to be rushed through - for this country will never be held to ransom by extremism.

How very strange it is that Labour is the party of national security; however, as an activist - that's a campaign i very much welcome.

<A

Another day, ANOTHER sleazy tory. Today, it is non other than the tory party chairman, Caroline Spelman - paying her nanny out of her parliamentary expenses; but of course the nanny did secretarial work for Ms Spleman and thats why she was paid out of expenses.

Even more laughable, she is in charge of regulating her colleagues expenses.

The next set of polls are going to be quite interesting. Labour may have been through rough water; but are people really ready to give power to a bunch of CONS?

Cameron's silence is deafening. We still dont know if chichester will lose the whip over, prima facie, a serious absence of good judgment, coupled with Den Dover's fiddling - What will he do to Spelman now that we know she gets the state to foot her childcare? Will he DITHER?

<A
